Sunè Taljaard
Sunè studied for her LLB Degree at North West University, Potchefstroom and completed her final year at De Vrije University, Amsterdam as an exchange student. She was admitted as an attorney in 2004 and in 2005 & 2006 she was admitted as a Conveyancer and Notary Public.
Sanelisiwe Hlophe
Sanelisiwe graduated from the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2018 with her Bachelor of Laws Degree. She was admitted as a Legal Practitioner in 2020 and as Conveyancer in 2021.
Rob Harris
Rob hails from Joburg and joined the firm at the beginning of 2020. He finished top of his class in 2017 bagging the coveted Investec Top 100 university achievers of that year. Since joining the firm, Rob quickly moved up the ranks and was named a director from 1 April 2023. He has built up a reputation for hard work, and his array of corporate clients would bear testament to this. Rob leads our civil and commercial litigation department, and also practices in the areas of insolvency, foreclosures, commercial drafting and advice, and family law.
Belinda Vermaak
Belinda studied for her LLB Degree through University of South Africa while completing five-years of articles. She graduated in 2019 and was admitted as an Attorney in 2019 and as a Conveyancer in 2020.
Practising Consultants
Graham Shelwell
Graham has been in the practice since 1969. He has a specialised commercial practice relating to property transactions, in particular Sectional Title Developments and has become one of the doyens of conveyancing in KwaZulu-Natal for more than 50 years.
The Professional Team
Conan O’Dwyer
Conan was admitted as an attorney in 2009 and joined Mason Inc as a consultant in 2022. He specialises in matters relating to Employment Law, providing advice to employers in the production, retail and service industries.
Thomas Mack
After spending a couple of years sailing the Med, Atlantic and Indian ocean, Thomas commenced his LLB degree through the university of South Africa.
He joined Mason Incorporated in 2021 during his final year of studying and was admitted as a Legal practitioner (Attorney) in 2024. Thomas is currently assisting Rob Harris as a Professional Associate in the Litigation Department.
The Staff
The professionals are fortunate to have the backing of some 30 staff members.
Several staff members have served with the practice for many years.
Graham Shelwell’s secretary, Minori Pillay joined the practice in 1988 as did conveyancing Secretary, Pat Naidoo.
